9/5/13 El Cubo de la Terria del Vino ➡ Zamora 33km

9/5/13  El Cubo de la Terria del Vino ➡ Zamora 33km

It's official we are crazy.
My feet hurt !
73km walked in 2 days, I don't know what has possessed us.
It rained nearly the whole way today. The last 5km it stopped.
We were slipping and sliding, the mud was building on the soles of our boots and it felt like we were wearing high heel boots. The inside of our boots our boots were like swimming pools.
Our poles collected so much mud it was hard to lift them.
We were dirty and wet, but we made it.

The old town of Zamora is quite beautiful, it's a shame that the weather is so horrid as the photos as quite grey looking. I can just imagine the photos with a blue sky and how stunning that would be.

We have parted ways with a few more pilgrims now. Some have walked on and are a day or so ahead of us. A lot of them left in Salamanca, some new ones have arrived to start their journey. We will just have to make some new friends.
We were lucky to catch up with Gunter again who we walked with in the beginning. He was finishing in Salamanca, so we had a dinner with him and 12 other pilgrims, it was fun.
We left Jacques in Salamanca, so I will have no more photo comps until we meet again, along the road.
