17/5/13 Lubian ➡ A Gudina 23.5km

17/5/13 Lubian  ➡ A Gudina 23.5km

Wow what a day today.
We have now experienced all the elements, heat wave, forceful winds, driving rain and now falling snow. We also got pelted with tiny hail on our way into town.

Our peaceful kitchen, dinning, bedroom was invaded by hungry pilgrims last night who we are sure thought it was party time!
Oh well, that's the life of a pilgrim staying in albergues. Peace and quiet away from the constant snoring at night or disruption before you go to sleep.

We left Lubian before 7am this morning and it had snowed overnight in the mountains.  We were on the blacktop again today.
The morning with the snow I can't tell you what the scenery was like as we couldn't see anything as it was a white out. The afternoon when it had stopped snowing the scenery was beautiful.

We have now crossed over into the last province of Galicia today.
The Hitos (Camino markers) have changed again and now in the albergues we get paper sheets and pillowcases.

My wonderful €5 poncho did the trick today with the snow but will not last as it is quite flimsy so Janet and I managed to purchase a heavier plastic one that should last the distance. Old eagle eye Cristy spotted them in the general store so we are sorted for the terrible weather ahead. We experienced another hail storm this afternoon and the stones were slightly bigger and there were many more. Crazy weather.

We are again with the noisy Spaniards who do not respect the quite time in the albergues. Hopefully we will loose them tomorrow when they walk on.
