15/5/13 Palacios de Sanabria ➡ Requejo 23km

15/5/13 Palacios de Sanabria ➡ Requejo 23km

The first part of the camino this morning was beautiful.
Walking through the forest was just divine.
Good terrain under foot, wild deer running around.
The smell of the damp fresh earth, the birds singing, the woodpeckers busy in the trees.
The flowers and the lichen in the trees, magnificent.

The second leg was on the dreaded blacktop.
We arrived in Requejo with enough time to do laundry.
The Albergue here is great.
Big room with sheets, towels and doonas, yeah, luxury.
The shower was boiling hot, so very happy.

We went to the bar next door and had a fabulous lunch with the French pilgrims.
Huge climb tomorrow, from 900m  to 1400m, not looking forward to that so hopefully we will have an early night with no disruptions.
The 5 Chicas are the only inhabitants of the Albergue so far.
Heading out shortly for tapas and cervazas, then bed.
