16/5/13 Requejo ➡ Lubian 20km

16/5/13 Requejo ➡ Lubian  20km

Blacktop walking today.
With all the road work and the weather we were forced to take the carratera.
We were entertained to an explosion in the tunnel they were working on and that was about all the excitement we could handle for one day.

Road walking is so, so boring. It was lovely looking at the mountains in the distance we had walked but that was about it. The weather has not been kind to the trail and fellow pilgrims have reported to us to take the road way. We also listen to the locals but sometimes you will get 5 different opinions from the locals.

Lubian is a quaint little town with lots of nooks and cranny's. The local supermacardo was a gold mine. We picked up wool gloves and ponchos as the weather has turned freezing and rainy. Since I sent both my gloves and poncho onto Santiago as they were not needed before this, I managed to purchase both items for €7, bargain. We have had reports that we are going to be walking into snow!
Eeeeeek!

Brigitte cooked a fantastic Sopa for dinner, beans, chorizo, garbanzo beans, potatoes and peppers, so scrummy, I actually had seconds. We even had olives, vino and flan for postre.
Our bedroom is actually the dinning, kitchen area so we are hoping most of the other pilgrims are eating out so that we can have an early night.
