6/5/13 San Pedro de Rozados ➡ Salamanca 24km

6/5/13  San Pedro de Rozados ➡ Salamanca 24km

Lazy start today as only a short day.
After the horror of yesterday, we granted our selves a sleep in.
Deysauno was a cafe and toastada, then it was on the road.
Very pleasant walking conditions today and great terrain. The scenery today was gasp inspiring.
The colours were amazing and Salamanca came quickly into view.
I could not stop taking photos today it was so inspiring.

We arrived around 2pm and quickly showered so that we could wash our smelly pilgrim clothes in a real washer. Then it was off to stuff our face with beer and pizza.
So much for the weight loss!!!

Salamanca is the most beautiful and breathtaking city I have ever been to. I was so overcome I could not get my camera out to shoot any photos as we arrived.

We met Mario and made plans to all catch up for dinner.
Cristy and I needed to get to the post office to collect the package we had sent from El Jara. We found the post office. But to our horror they only keep mail for 15 days and then return to sender!!!  We had missed our package by 2 days. Luckily we had put the return address to Santiago, the address there hold for 2 months, so hopefully it will be there when we arrive. Oh well, you learn something new everyday.
