A day in Seville

12/4/13 Seville

This will probably be my last post for a while as Cristy and I are going to head off tomorrow.
The weather is looking good for the next week with highs of 26-28.
We decanted our bags today to send on extra stuff to Santiago.
Believe it or not,  but we sent on 4.37kg of gear. This cost us a whopping €9 !!!!

We walked from the backpackers to the Cathedral as I wanted to get a sello(stamp) from there. We were going to go on the tour but at a high €8 entry we gave it a miss.
Seville is a beautiful town with the bitter orange trees growing in the street.

We wandered down to the bullfighting ring and had a €10 menu of the day. Yummo !
From there we went back to the Cathedral to find our way out of the city tomorrow.
As we didn't want to walk into the Cathedral and out again tomorrow this was an opportunity to also find where we were going in the morning. We are very near to the path at the backpackers so wanted to save our feet.

It is fairly well arrowed but you still need to keep an eye out for them.
We found the mural and the 1000km marker and are now ready for the journey.
Will need to carefully pack my pack. My back is on the mend but not there yet.
So far feet, knees and hips are all good.
Boots and pack as comfortable as can be.
We have bought some food in preparation for the walk in the morning.
The Via De La Plata differs from the French way as there are not as many conveniences available to the weary pilgrim, so you need to be more prepared.
Tomorrow will see us walk  22.2km from Seville - Guillena.
There has been some fairly major flooding down this way so we may have to detour a little.

  1. Hi Joanne,

wow sounds amazing but hard work!! Good on you. Love the photo's, Seville brings back a lot of great memories, especially about postage too and a lovely motherly woman trying to convince me not to mail a package home cause it was too expensive!! LOL Look forward to your next blog.
