19/5/13 Campobecerros ➡ Laza 15km
Survived the fridge freezer of a night. I awoke this morning with my buff still around my head keeping all the cold air out.
Well we wanted to get into a local house to stay to see what it was like!
Boy was that an experience I don't want to repeat too quickly.
The land lady was loco, her poor husband and mother in law. We thought they may have donned backpacks to join us and get away from her!
Lovely walk today, vast sweeping scenery huge mountains and lots of flowers. Great terrain to walk on and just a great day. No rain, cool air and a bit of sunshine, makes for a happy pilgrim.
Laza is a lovely town and the local civil guard runs the Albergue. They were very helpful and engaging. We are currently in a room for 8 but only the 4 Chicas are occupying it at the moment. As we are want to spread ourselves we have made it look like all beds are taken so we are hoping that the other rooms fill up. It is actually out of our control as the civil guard allocate the beds. We did ask for a Chicas room, less snoring !
But according to Cristy I was making a bit of a racket last night. Ear plugs please!!
Lunch today was amazing. Home cooking. Superb. So full and very satisfied. Mushrooms, prawn and egg as starter and the best chicken and potatoes with salad so far.
Lovey vino tinto and great company.
Just a heads up, we should be in Santiago by next Monday.
